Field users enjoy the ability to see the scaled model in the field. Spectar makes it as easy as turning the BIM Helmet on and seeing the model. Users can interact with the model in 15 seconds in a natural and intuitive way. Even a novice can accurately place the correct 3D model in less than 45 seconds.
The accuracy of your model rendering starts with model placement techniques. Using Spectar there are 3 ways to place the model. Let’s discuss the process, use cases and results.
Single point placement
“Quick and Rough placement” to get to model <4″ accuracy.
Three point placement
“In-app” quick placement by scanning three control points ~1″ accuracy.
“Visor down” placement
The fastest way to accurate model placement with automated app log-in and model identification. <1″ accuracy.
Customers asked us to improve the time to placement for those who are not yet using Mixed Reality in Construction, and we delivered.
Single point placement: Total time to content: 2:19
Three point placement: Total time to content: 1:19
“Visor down” placement: Total time to content: 0:45
Customers often need to adjust elevations to compensate for finished floors or working on scissor lifts; or simply to dial in the last 1/2″ in the work area. And sometimes the model is wrong.
No matter the circumstances, we have the tools to get it done.
Adjusting for elevations
Benchmark tool projects a “spinning laser line” at a given elevation within your BIM Overlay. This is how you control your elevation.
Adjusting for as-built
Adjust your BIM Overlay to existing conditions.
With increased accuracy and decreased time in model placement, error rates are reduced immensely.
Adjusting to your environment gives you total control, with real-time problem solving in app.
